Sani Aliyu, the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on Covid-19, says the date for school resumption have not changed from being January 18.
Aliyu made the announcement in an interview with TVC on Tuesday, January 12. He said the date may change after a review is done by the federal government.
Recall that, the minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, said on Monday, January 11, that the federal government would review the school resumption date. The statement was misinterpreted by many people, some took it that schools will no longer resume on 18th.
Also remember that the President of Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU), Prof. Biodun, said that the union is concerned about the safety of it’s members, as a result they are not sure if schools will resume coming Monday, January 18.
To clear people’s doubt, Aliyu said the resumption date have not been changed officially. He said that what the Minister of Education said was that they would review the date. Until the review is done and a new date announced, the resumption date remains, January 18, Aliyu said.
