Sheikh Ridwan Suenu, a renowned Islamic scholar has passed on.
Naija News Direct learnt that Sheikh Suenu, the founder, Ummu Hujjatullah Quranic Schools, died in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, in the early hours of Sunday.
He has been buried, according to Islamic rites, at Agege Muslim cemetery on Sunday at 10am.
Hon. Rasaq Ajala announced via his Facebook page on Sunday: “In the name of Allah, The Most Compassionate, The Gracious. From Allah we come, Unto Him we shall return. My teacher, my leader, my mentor. Sheikh Ridwan Olanrewaju Suenu is dead. Allahumo Igfri Llahu, War Ham Huu. May Almighty Allah admit my teacher into Al Janatul Firdaus. Amin.”
In a similar vein, Dr. Abdulhakeem Abdullateef, a former Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs, mourned the religious leader’s demise.
Abdullateef wrote on his known Facebook page: “Inna lilahi wa inna ilaehi rajiun May Allah forgive Sheikh Ridwan Suenu and grant him Al JANNAH fridaus. Please join us at Agege this morning by 10am for the Janazah in shaa Allah.”
Sheikh Ridwan Suenu was close confidant to late Sheikh Mustapha Zuglool Sanusi, the founder and proprietor of Daru Da’wah Wali-irishad Islamic & Arabic Institute, Isolo, Lagos. The representatives of the school were at the burial ground to give the late islamic scholar the last respect.
