Projects Inspection To Commence In LGs/LCDAs, Says Auditor-General – Naijanewsdirect

 

The Lagos State Government, through the Office of the Auditor-General for Local Governments, has concluded plans to embark on Statewide Projects Inspection and Asset Verification in all the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas in the State.

A statement issued by the Permanent Secretary/Auditor-General for Local Governments, Mrs. Adesumbo Abolarin, said that this year’s exercise will hold between August 9 and August 20, 2021, with specific attention to projects undertaken and completed between January and December 2020.

Her words: To ensure a worthwhile eexercise, Professionally Qualified Engineers in diverse fields from the Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, New Towns Development Authority and LSDPC have been co-opted to strengthen and add value to the Audit teams’ technical competence.

While reminding the LG/LCDAs that the outcome of the inspection exercise will be published and widely circulated, Abolarin enjoined those in authority to cooperate maximally with the Inspection Team towards timely completion of the task.
