
The Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area, (LCDA), Hon. Rasaq Olusola Ajala, on Monday, 30th December, 2019, presented cash reward to a member of staff of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA.
Mr. Ologunro Adegboyega, a member of staff of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA was presented with the cash reward by Hon. Rasaq Ajala at the Council’s End of The Year Prayers & Get Together Party which took place at the main hall of the council.
In his speech at the event, Hon. Rasaq Ajala said Ologunro Adegboyega, the recipient of the cash reward shunned every pressure from his peers, friends and family to take up a job considered as odd.
“There were several others among his peers that were offered the same job but declined,” the Chairman said.
Hon. Ajala, however, thanked him for making him proud for not only accepting the job but also doing it diligently, even as the Chairman said he had also done similar job in the past
“I had once been in his position, doing odd jobs but I am thanking God for my life today,” he added.
In his speech at the event, the Head of Administration (HOA) of the council, Alhaji Shakirudeen Omotayo, thanked the Chairman, the executive members, management team and all members of staff.
He used the opportunity to called on other staff to be more dedicated to their jobs, as reward of hard work will always come to those who do value it.
He called on those in charge of revenue to intensify effort to improve on the annual income.
He thanked the Chairman for the cash award given to Gboyega. he said “everyone was thoroughly supervised and monitored for their performances.”
He leveraged the opportunity to thank the management staff for their support as, without them, the relative success recorded wouldn’t have been a reality.
He said: “The chairman on resumption of office did promise to take welfare of the staff seriously and he was sure he has fulfilled many of his promises as Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA is in the forefront of other local governments whose staff have been adequately motivated in Lagos state.”
He said plans are in the top gear to recognize area officers who distinguish themselves and perform excellently in their respective positions.
He insisted that punctuality and resourcefulness are the bedrock of a good officer.
The recipient, Adegboyega Ologunro thanked the Chairman for the cash gift. He said the gesture will definitely spur him to do more. He prayed to God to be with the chairman and his entire cabinet.
At the event were the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon Seyi Jakande, leader of the legislative arm hon. Rilwan Ola Ajenifuja and some Councillors.
Supervisors from various department, Special Assistant to the Chairman, Council’s Treasurer Mr Babalola Shuaib Badmus, heads of various departments and staff.
