Former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro, has debunked media reports that he has declared his intention to run for the governorship seat of Lagos state in 2023, reports The Gazelle News.com.

While reacting to the media reports on his 2023 gubernatorial ambition, Senator Obanikoro on Monday, 3 January, 2022, stated that he has not taken any decision on his governorship ambition.

“I told the reporter that I’ve not taken any decision on the matter. I told him I’m still consulting and discussing with stakeholders on the matter,” Senator Obanikoro said.

According to him, the governorship is not just what one can jump into. “It needs a lot of consultation and discussion with stakeholders. So I’ve not taken any decision yet since I’m still consulting,”.

The pioneer Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs said he would make his decision public after concluding his consultation.
