A Chairmanship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ejigbo Local Council development Area, Lagos, Hon. Peter Ajayi, has felicitated with children on the celebration of this year’s children’s day.
According to a statement issued by his Director of Media and Publicity, Hon. Damilola Onadeko, the Chairman aspirant commended the efforts of the Executive Governor of the state, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu in protecting and safeguarding the rights of the children in the state most especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, saying that it was evident the Governor cherishes the importance of children in the society.
Ajayi added “I consider it a privilege to felicitate with the great and wonderful children in all the six wards in Ejigbo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State. Without mincing words, children are a heritage from the LORD and offspring a reward from him”
While he opined that children’s day is a window all parents and guardians must leverage to bring the kids together, Ajayi also averred that their welfare must not be stepped down no matter the challenges engulfed with.
“Incontrovertibly, Children’s Day is a universal anniversary and is celebrated with enthusiasm each year to promote international synergy, awareness among children the world over, and improve children’s welfare. As a chairmanship aspirant, I see all the parents of these awesome kids as the master strategists and transformative caretakers whom the Lord has well positioned to invest much in their respective children and wards”, said Ajayi.
He further said, ” I identify with every child today in Ejigbo LCDA. These children are the pillars, upon which the future of our stewardship now and in the future rests. I also identify with their parents. I am bold to say that parents are very important just as their children”.
He said ” Today, I wish to say that the child rights are invariably domesticated in our grundnorm, as in other nations. Parents, class teachers, health officers, government functionaries, religious and community elders, corporate magnates and media professionals, as well as young people and children themselves, must raise the stake, to wit, to be good ambassadors at all levels, which is an important part of making the Children’s Day a special day annually”.
” This occasion, no doubt, offers each and everyone of us the motivation to stamp our voices as well as advocate, promote and celebrate children’s rights, translate same into dialogues and actions that will build a better world for children”.
Ajayi appreciated the efforts of the Executive Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu in safeguarding the rights of the children during covid-19 pandemic, saying ” the Lagos State government has really moved with speed to make a landmark statement in investing in the future of every child in Lagos regardless his ethnic and religious background”.
He said that child rights crisis were real but through the help of God, guiding principles and municipal grundnorm and comportment of the parents, the future of the children could be brighter and rewarding.
Ajayi added that if he emerges as the chairman the council, he would create an enabling environment for the children and encourage inspirational reading culture for the them, adding ” We shall strengthen health care in Ejigbo LCDA and make it viable”.
