It is a product of the latest technology in passport administration and issuance. “This year alone, we have received about 750,000 applications out of which we have provided 625,000. The difference could have been due to many reasons, including failure of applicants to provide the correct information about themselves and matching their data with NIN. We could not contact them because they applied through touts who provided their own addresses or wrong ones altogether. But 625,000 is a huge and unprecedented figure, in less than half of the year, by any stretch of the imagination,” the Minister stated. Speaking further, the Interior Minister noted that President Muhammadu Buhari was indeed worried about the hassles Nigerians go through in securing the passports, noting that the role of the Nigerian Immigration Service is to make Nigerians desirous of getting the passport do so with ease and without stress. Godwin Obaseki: Three Ways Apostle Suleman Has Shown Loyalty – Naijanewsdirect

Without mincing words, Apostle Johnson Suleman is a man whose level of consistency reflects his values and standards. Obviously, this is one feature that builds him a high level of trust among people that surround him. Habitually, this value also stands him out to be noticed more among fellow God’s ministers.   A charismatic and outspoken pastor with a national following, Suleman has been ever consistent in speaking truth to oppressive political leadership both locally and elsewhere.  Come what may, he is adamantly against rules that admit tyranny. His steady outbursts against government’s perceived anti-masses policies, as well as calls for vigilance especially while the covid-19 pandemic saga lasted, are concrete examples.   What further emphasizes this character trait that is most valued by those following Apostle Suleman are his unwavering support for his friends. It is general knowledge that Suleman and Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State are close. The relationship transcends politics; it is somewhat filial and the cleric is believed to be the governor’s family’s spiritual father.   Thus, when the crack between Obaseki and his erstwhile political godfather, Adams Oshiomhole, widened and the later was bent on ending the governor’s political career at the last governorship election, Apostle Suleman reportedly urged Obaseki not to forfeit his faith under the feet of dominance by the those after his ambition. Although, it requires creativity to solve a difficult problem, doing what else is right too helps to defeat a difficult challenge, the servant of God was said to have warned Obaseki as the election approached and hope was further fading.   “Let troubles know that you are equally troublesome. Fight on till you win. No quitting here,” the man called ‘Oracle of God’ had pressed the governor on the election eve.   The weeks that heralded the 19th of September, 2020 governorship election saw about 42 of Governor Obaseki’s

Obaseki shouldn’t be afraid of people leaving him, He just needs to stay focused.   Edo election is more than what anyone can stop, Edo election is for PDP, God wants to fight for Obaseki, I have never met him or collected any kobo from him, if I have, let him come out and disgrace me, I am talking as a Prophet.’’   Just few weeks before the election, Primate Ayodele released a last warning ahead of the edo election and categorically asked Obasek to work against any form of manipulation in the election, in order for him to remain victorious   ‘People are supporting Obaseki but those people might not vote, He needs to be rugged else he will be eased out, if he takes any simplicity method, He will lose out.   There will be manipulations in the election, if he isn’t careful, his victory will be given to someone else, even if he appeals the case, he won’t be given, he must not allow manipulations in the election, if he loses, He will be forever irrelevant in politics.   They have already prepared the manipulation process to ease him out, he shouldn’t be carried away by the crowd he

Edo 2020: Show Us Your Academic Qualification, Wike Challenges Oshiomhole – Naijanewsdirect

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has insisted that Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has no certificate. Wike said this while denouncing the claims by Oshiomhole that Godwin Obaseki, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming governorship election lacked required academic credentials to contest the September 19 poll. Wike, in a statement on Sunday by his Commissioner for Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim, said Oshiomhole did not have the moral standing to question his successor’s qualifications. Oshiomhole had during the flag off of the APC Governorship Campaign in Edo, on Saturday, said that Obaseki, who is the incumbent Governor, was not even qualified to contest. Wike, who is the Chairman of the PDP Campaign Council for the Edo State election, challenged Oshiomhole to present his academic certificate. He said: “The certificate claims about Governor Obaseki by the former APC National Chairman is a non-issue because he is the best candidate for Edo State. “It is unfortunate that we are in a country that somebody that does not have a certificate will question the one that has. “Oshiomhole has a trade test which is not an academic qualification. I challenge him to show the world his academic qualification.” Oshiomhole had said that should the APC lose the election to Obaseki, it would go to court and challenge the governor’s qualification. But Wike added, “His claim that if APC loses the election they will secure the mandate through the courts is a total confirmation that the party cannot win the Edo election through the ballot box. He maintained that winning in court will be difficult for the APC because there are still Judges in the country with conscience and cannot do the bidding of the APC.

The battle for the control of the Edo State House of Assembly took a melodramatic turn on Friday as a voodoo priestess and spiritual leader of Ekutetebite Negwogho group, Princess lnibokun lmasemwenbor stormed the complex to curse opponents of Governor Godwin Obaseki. Accompanied by fellow occultists, the priestesses said they represented the female members of traditional worship centres in the Benin Kingdom. We Benin people don’t like what they are doing. “APC is oppressing Obaseki. Why I am interested in the matter is that we did not have an access road to my community before Obaseki became governor. We used to spend so much to come to Benin. But now, we can travel in and out of our community. We don’t suffer from erosion anymore. “For that reason, I must support Obaseki for a second term. Whoever says he will turn the state upside down to rig the election, let the heads of our ancestors torment him. “Obaseki is a peacemaker, he gave us amenities of life and for that reason, I have to back him up with my strength.” Princess lmasemwenbor predicted that the governor who is presently running on the ticket of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will be re-elected for another four years. She warned: “Nobody will grab it from him and whoever says he will turn the state upside down to subvert the wishes of the people, help us tell him that the head of our ancestors will torment the

He said, “Except for divine intervention, Obaseki will not scale through the screening. This is because even we that have little sympathy for him, may not be able to help. The discrepancies are too glaring to be swept under the carpet.” Asked to disclose some of the discrepancies, he declined, saying “go and check on Monday at our secretariat, look at it, you may see some.” The spokesperson of the party, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, had on Friday, said the various submissions would be displayed at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja and in Benin City, the Edo State capital, for claims and objections today.
