Helplessness, it is often said leads to hopelessness. As the fate of the kidnapped Lagos State University (LASU) student, Olowa Kehinde Jacob hanged in the balance, his family have resulted to begging in order to rescue their son from his abductors.
It would be recalled that Olowa Kehinde was abducted along Benin-Ore Expressway on Friday, 9th April 2021, while returning to Lagos. Olowa Kehinde and his twin brother, Olowa Taiwo are both 300-level students of LASU and the former is the Head of Class (HOC) of Accounting.
An authoritative source revealed that on the day of the abduction, Kehinde and Taiwo were both in the car together with one other person. While Taiwo and the other person narrowly escaped, Kehinde couldn’t escape because he was the driver and also had his seat belt on.
Although, information has it that the Students Union of the Lagos State University has since swung into action, they had reportedly contacted security operatives in the country, the family of the victim who are at the receiving end are not folding their arms.
The kidnappers are said to have allowed Kehinde to communicate with members of his family and an humongous ransom of N10Million was being requested for as condition for his release.
To this end, reliable sources revealed that Kehinde’s family are petrified as they now run helter-skelter to raise the N10Million ransom for their son to regain freedom.
Moreso, inside source divulged to us that when Kehinde was allowed to speak with his family yesterday, Saturday, 10th April, 2021, he spoke in a faint voice, and passionately begged his family to come to his aid by raising the N10Million ransom.
Meanwhile, fliers to solicit for fund to be channeled towards meeting the demand of the kidnappers are now in circulation. The fliers are said to have been released by the family of the abducted Kehinde. The fliers carried the account details of Kehinde’s twin brother, Taiwo.
